Legal information
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 August 2026
This Policy applies to visitors, employers, employment agencies, agency personnel and helper candidates whose information is handled through Maidagencies.sg.
1. Who we are
Maidagencies.sg operates an online marketplace where users can discover employment agencies, review agency-managed helper profiles and contact the agency responsible for a listing. Maidagencies.sg is a technology platform and is not itself the employment agency providing placement services unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account and identity information, including name, email address, telephone number, login credentials and authentication records.
- Agency information, including registered name, MOM licence number, personnel details, business contact information, address, logo, verification documents and subscription records.
- Employer information, including household requirements, preferred helper criteria, enquiries and correspondence.
- Helper candidate information submitted by an agency, which may include a profile photograph, name or public reference, nationality, age, employment experience, skills, language ability, availability, biodata and related documents.
- Technical and usage information, including IP address, browser information, security logs, page activity, saved profiles and cookie or session identifiers.
- Payment status and billing identifiers from our payment provider. We do not store complete payment-card details.
3. How we collect data
We collect data directly from you, from an employment agency acting for a helper candidate, through your use of the platform, and from service providers used for authentication, payments, hosting, storage and communications. Agencies must have the necessary authority and consent before submitting another person’s data.
4. Purposes for collection, use and disclosure
- Create and secure accounts and verify agencies.
- Publish and manage agency pages and permitted helper profile information.
- Match employer requirements with relevant agencies and route enquiries to selected or participating agencies.
- Process subscriptions, provide support and send service communications.
- Moderate listings, investigate misuse, prevent fraud and maintain platform security.
- Measure and improve platform performance and comply with legal, regulatory and enforcement requirements.
5. Public profile information
Information marked for publication may be visible to anyone and may appear in search engines. Agencies must not publish a helper’s full biodata or information that MOM does not permit to be publicly advertised. Detailed documents should only be shared with an appropriate prospective employer through restricted access or another lawful process.
6. Disclosure of personal data
We may disclose relevant data to the agency managing a listing, agencies selected for a matching request, technology and professional service providers acting for us, payment and authentication providers, and public authorities where required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal data.
7. Overseas transfers and service providers
Some service providers may process data outside Singapore. Where the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 requires it, we will take reasonable steps to ensure transferred personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.
8. Consent and withdrawal
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it by contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect earlier lawful processing. It may prevent us from providing an account, publishing a listing, routing an enquiry or delivering another requested service.
9. Accuracy, access and correction
You should keep your information accurate and current. Subject to applicable exceptions, an individual may request access to personal data in our possession or control and information about how it was used or disclosed during the preceding year, or request correction of an error or omission. We may verify identity and may charge a reasonable fee where permitted.
10. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected, to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security records, or satisfy legal and business requirements. We will cease retention or anonymise data when it is no longer required.
11. Security and data incidents
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No online service is completely secure, so users must protect passwords and promptly report suspected account misuse. We assess data incidents and notify the PDPC and affected individuals where required by law.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies or local storage for login sessions, language preferences, saved profiles, security and core functionality. Analytics or marketing technologies, if introduced, will be described and managed through appropriate notices or choices.
13. Children
The platform is not directed to persons under 18. An agency must not upload a minor’s personal data unless it has a lawful reason and all required authority.
14. Contact and complaints
Questions, access or correction requests, consent withdrawals and privacy complaints may be submitted through our contact page with the subject “Data Protection”. We may request information needed to verify identity and locate the relevant records.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the platform, service providers or law. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
