About Genica Blanza Ligtas
Genica Blanza Ligtas is a 31-year-old Filipino citizen from Marikina City, Philippines. She is married to a 36-year-old I.T. professional, and they are blessed with two children, ages seven and one. Genica comes from a close-knit family of six siblings, being the fourth child among three brothers and two sisters. Her father, aged 61, works as a farmer, while her 62-year-old mother is a dedicated housewife. Genica completed her secondary education at Damulan National High School in 2010. She later pursued a course in Food Technology, but due to financial challenges, she was unable to finish her college studies. Despite this, she remained determined to work hard and help support her family. She gained non-domestic work experience as a Sales Associate from August 2017 to May 2018, where she learned customer service, communication, and teamwork. Since January 2023, she has been working as a Cashier and Food Server, where she continues to develop her skills in handling customers, maintaining cleanliness, and managing daily transactions while waiting for her overseas employment opportunity. Genica also has valuable domestic work experience in the Philippines from 2019 to 2021. She was employed by a Filipino family living in a three-bedroom bungalow, consisting of a couple and their 18-year-old child. Her responsibilities included general housekeeping such as cleaning, laundry, ironing, cooking, marketing, and car washing. She performed her duties with diligence and maintained a good relationship with her employers. She is confident in taking care of newborns and young children. Her childcare skills include meal preparation, feeding, bathing, changing clothes, and engaging children in educational and recreational activities while ensuring their safety and well-being. She is also willing to look after elderly persons or those with special needs if given the opportunity. Genica is skilled in Filipino cooking and is eager to learn new dishes from other cuisines to meet her employer’s preferences. She is hardworking, patient, responsible, and adaptable—qualities that make her well-suited for domestic work abroad. Upon selection, she will undergo a two-week In-House Private Training in Manila (TESDA-accredited), followed by an OWWA seminar and the processing of POEA employment documents before deployment.
